The LW-SDI leaf wetness sensor provides a critical input variable to calculated measures such as the Botrytis disease index. When the sensor is dry, the output value is 0% or very close to zero. When rain drops hit the surface of the sensor, the measurement response will be anywhere between 0% and 100%, depending on how much of the sensor area is covered with water drops.
Key Features & Benefits
- Accurate wetness detection: capacitance-based sensor measures the percentage of the surface covered with water (0–100%).
- Essential for disease modeling
- SDI-12 digital output ensures compatibility with the RS10 data logger.
- Rugged outdoor design with IP65-rated and UV-resistant for reliable field performance.
- Low power draw
- Wide operating range: performs reliably from –40 °F to 176 °F (–40 °C to 80 °C).
- Plug-and-play connection: 4-pin connector enables simple integration with RS10 systems.
Typical Uses
- Agriculture & Horticulture
- Environmental & Forestry Monitoring
- Research & Education
- Facility & Infrastructure Applications
